Terracotta - Hand painting

Reeti's First Creation

Sunday, May 11th 2014
Over this weekend, my one and half year old daughter got a chance to play with colors.
Not that she don't know about it. When she turned one, I gave her crayons and allowed her to scribble on paper. She very well knows meaning of drawing, in her language its 'DAWeeNG'.
This time I gave her paint brushes & acrylic colors.
She started dipping paint brushes into water and white paper sheets started turning red-yellow-green. :)
I had a terracotta glass, I painted that red with fingers ( As she had brushes and was not allowing me to touch any of those.)
When I made her dip her fingers into colors, she thought its HOLI time.
Papa,Mummy,Dadi.. she called one by one and all had to allow her to apply some color on their faces.
Some how painted her hand yellow and took an imprint on this glass. She cleaned her hands by wiping on her tummy. I had to give her a bath after all this play.
What a coincidence - she got her first creation done on mother's day.
Keeping this at my office desk..as a Mother's day gift. :) ;)

Baby frock

I love flowers..be it in flower vase..or flower printed dresses.
For my little one I was very particular about something flowery!
I started this project 5-6 months back.. completed stiching some 2 months back. Those flowers took me 2 months!!
Its just about finding time.. just one quite morning.. I woke up at 5 and got this ready before my darling woke up! :)
Hunting for a new project now!

Valentine Day - Paper quilling card

There was valentine day card making competition.. I worked very hard to get this ready for participating.
All my previous projects in paper quilling were limited to aking some small flowers/hearts/butterflies.When I started this project, it seemed as if its a simple thing which won't take much time.
But as I started going ahead with quilling every spiral and loop, it made me realize that its not that simple.
It took me around 8-9 hours to get only those hearts ready. That too were not upto my expectation. I wanted to do more in it but Alas! had no time left.
My dear husband helped me by making few hearts and sticking them to place. And by giving eyes to the couple. :)
Though I could not win the competition, this one taught me that things are not as easy as it seems.

My Interests

Hey there..
I love to write and more than that love to do some crafty work.
Be it making a frilly frock for my little one or making candles..
Even when I am occupied with other stuffs and not making anything, I keep day dreaming about what to make.
Today I am starting up this blog to satiate my desire to work on crafts/creative arts!!
Just hope that willingness to post my work on this would give me a push to complete my projects [ which is a long to-do list].

Right now ..the one I am committing to complete by this weekend is a frock for my darling daughter!!

Stay tuned :)
----------Update : So here comes my first defeat.. i could not or I should rather say..did not make it to my commitment. That frock is almost complete.. but still a cherry on the cake is missing. :( Will update soon.
